Australia’s employer sponsored 482 visa is now the Skills in Demand visa.
Hairdresser, ANZSCO 391111, is currently on the Core Skills Occupation List. The Skills in Demand visa (subclass 482) Core Skills stream can allow an approved employer to sponsor a suitably skilled worker where the legal requirements are met.
Home Affairs currently states that Core Skills applicants must, among other requirements, be nominated for an occupation on the CSOL, meet salary requirements, have at least one year of relevant work experience, satisfy relevant skills assessment requirements where applicable and meet English requirements unless exempt.

New Zealand hairdressers
For many New Zealand citizens, employer sponsorship is not required to work in Australia.
Eligible New Zealand citizens with a valid New Zealand passport can generally apply for a Special Category visa, subclass 444, when entering Australia. Home Affairs states that SCV holders can live, work and study in Australia while the visa is in effect.
That means New Zealand hairdressers should not assume they need employer sponsorship before applying for an Epic role. Your own circumstances still matter, so check current Home Affairs information before making travel or employment decisions.
Information for New Zealand citizens
Working Holiday visas can also be relevant for some applicants.
Some eligible passport holders use a Working Holiday visa (subclass 417) as their initial way to live and work in Australia. Age limits and employment conditions vary by passport and visa, so always check current Home Affairs requirements. A Working Holiday visa is different from employer sponsorship.

Hairdresser, ANZSCO 391111, is currently on the Core Skills Occupation List. Eligible employers and suitably skilled applicants may be able to use the Skills in Demand visa subclass 482 Core Skills stream where all requirements are met.
Does Epic Hair Designs sponsor overseas hairdressers?
Epic has more than 12 years of experience sponsoring international stylists and may consider sponsorship for suitable qualified candidates and eligible full time roles. Sponsorship is not guaranteed by applying for a job.
What experience is required for a 482 hairdresser visa?
Home Affairs currently states that Core Skills stream applicants need at least one year of relevant work experience in the nominated occupation or a related field, along with the other visa requirements. Epic may set a higher experience requirement for a particular salon role.
Can hairdresser sponsorship lead to permanent residence?
Some sponsored workers may later become eligible for permanent residence. For example, Home Affairs lists the Employer Nomination Scheme subclass 186 as a potential pathway for eligible sponsored workers. Eligibility is individual and should be checked at the relevant time.
Is the Gold Coast considered regional for migration purposes?
Home Affairs currently lists the Gold Coast as a Category 2 designated regional area for specified migration programs. The rules apply by visa and postcode, so this should always be checked against current Home Affairs information.
Do New Zealand hairdressers need sponsorship to work at Epic?
Often, no. Eligible New Zealand citizens can generally receive a Special Category visa subclass 444 on entry to Australia, which provides work rights while the visa is in effect. Individual circumstances should still be checked.
Can I apply from the UK or Ireland?
Yes. Epic welcomes applications from suitably qualified international hairdressers. Your work rights or sponsorship options depend on your personal circumstances and current Australian visa rules.
