The formula is a stylist decision. The product category is only one part of the assessment. Hair strength, elasticity, porosity, previous services and the desired curl all matter.
Goldwell’s current technology
Created for moisture, elasticity, bounce and definition.
Goldwell says the Texture Dimensions range uses its Triple Moisture Bounce Complex. The technology combines urea, panthenol, glycine and bamboo and is designed to support hydration, elasticity, reduced frizz and curl definition through the professional perm service.
That does not remove the chemical change involved in perming. It gives Epic stylists a current professional system with different formulas, while consultation, wrapping technique and careful processing remain essential.

Perming is a precision service and normally requires more time than a standard cut or blow dry. Your salon can confirm the likely appointment length after understanding your hair and intended result.

Assess and select
Your stylist evaluates strength, elasticity and porosity, then determines whether to proceed and which Goldwell formula is appropriate. Testing may be required.
Wrap and process
The rod size, sectioning, placement, direction and tension create the design. The selected lotion is applied and monitored professionally.
Neutralise and finish
Goldwell Perm Fix completes the professional process. Your stylist then shapes or styles the curl and explains how to look after it at home.
An important suitability note
Not every head of hair should be permed today.
Previously lightened, heavily highlighted, chemically straightened, fragile or highly porous hair may not be suitable for perming. A formula designed for compromised hair does not automatically mean the service should proceed.
Your stylist may recommend a test, a different result, a staged condition plan, a cut or no perm at all. Protecting the hair takes priority over completing the service.
Living with your new texture
The perm is created in salon. How it wears also depends on home.
Your curl will gradually relax and new hair will grow in with your natural texture. How quickly this happens depends on the hair, curl design, daily styling, washing and home care, so there is no responsible fixed lifespan for every perm.
