Often, but box dye correction and box dye removal depend on the product used, how many applications are present, the natural depth, condition and desired result. Repeated dark box colour can be resistant and uneven through the lengths. A consultation and strand test help determine what can be changed safely and whether the journey needs stages.

Permanent colour generally does not reliably lift existing artificial pigment to create a lighter result. Colour reduction or professional lightener may be required. The exact choice depends on what pigment is present and what the hair can support.

Any service that changes hair colour, especially lightening, must be planned around condition. Professional products and treatments can support hair quality, but they cannot make every transformation appropriate. Epic may limit the change, stage the service, recommend treatment first or decline further lightening if the hair cannot support it.

Not every correction needs the same support service. K18 and Olaplex use different professional technologies and may be selected based on hair history, condition and the planned chemical work. Your colourist may recommend one, another treatment or a period of care before more lightening.

Toner can neutralise unwanted warmth when the hair has reached a suitable underlying level. It cannot create lift that has not happened. If the hair is still too dark or uneven underneath, further technical work may be required before toning can create the intended result.
