 1. Scandi Hairline

The Scandi Hairline is the hair colour trend that has had millions of views on Instagram and Tik Tok feeds – and for good reason. This viral hair hack is the summer update you need to subscribe to, owing to its flattering impact on the hair and face-brightening effects.

The technique involves lightening the baby hairs and the hairline. Using a very fine comb, your hairstylist will pick up the soft hairs around the forehead and apply a colour shade or two lighter than your natural hair colour. By focusing on this section of hair, it gently softens the roots around your face, creating a natural sun-kissed appearance that brightens your face as well as your mane.

2. Honey Blonde

Natural, grown-out blonde hair with some warmth is the new hair colour of choice for celebs who used to do bright platinum blonde. Now celebrities, including Alix Earle, Madelyn Cline, and Khloe Kardashian, are opting for a more natural, warm blonde hair color in 2024. It’s sure to be a staple on our feeds and irl in 2024 as people start moving away from bright platinum blondes and embrace a grown-out natural look.

The new look makes sense. This subdued version of the ever-popular bronde shade is the perfect transition into the warmer months. It’s rich, summery and you can rely on this hue to brighten up your complexion to match your bronzed skin. Plus. transitioning from a damaged platinum blonde to a more natural base colour with highlights and warmth can result in a smoother and healthier appearance.

3. Sparkly Copper

This one goes out to our copper girls who were obsessed with the cowgirl copper look last year, and now want to switch things up. Our advice? Check out the sparkly copper trend that seems to be so hot this summer.

Masterfully done money pieces coupled with light streaks throughout long hair turns a copper penny mane into a venetian sunset vibe. To get the look, ask your stylist to drop the highlights off the root for a more natural and softer grow out.

4. Side-Swept Bangs

Step aside gen-Z, side-swept bangs are make a come back in a BIG way. Side-swept bangs that extend the mid-cheek are at the top of our Most Wanted list. This is the perfect type of bang to add angular length to your hair and face. Plus, it will elongate your jawline and give extra definition to your cheeks.

The sideswept fringe is the go-to look for those with a round face. Creating a diagonal angle will keep the attention focused on your center features, like your eyes and lips. When you’re ready to show off your new style, dry your hair from the roots first to help keep your bangs looking fresh, smooth, and frizz-free. Get the look by asking your stylist for blunt straight-across bangs at lash length or longer, providing styling leeway to push them to the side or split down the middle for a chic Birkin-bang effect.

5. Butterfly Cut

The butterfly haircut is one of the biggest hair trends of the past few years, and it’s not going anywhere for 2024. A combination of the ’70s shag and the ’90s-era “Rachel” with the added va-va-voom of contemporary bombshell blowouts, it’s nearly impossible to find a reason not to like the look. As my Gen Z girlies say, it’s giving “rom-com hair”.

If you’re a fan of the ’90s supermodel blowout trend, then the Butterfly Cut trend is perfect for you. Similar to the Rachel Cut, this look is built on a blend of short and long layers. This technique creates a butterfly wing-look, adding shape around your face and giving the illusion of fuller hair without sacrificing length.

6. Chunky Highlights

Oh, you thought you escaped the Y2K aesthetic? Not so fast. Dust off your low-rise jeans, because the iconic chunky highlights have resurfaced for 2024. For those of you who are growing bored of balayage, you’re in luck. There’s a new, bolder hair colouring technique in town.

You may recall the hair trend from the late-’90s and early ’00s, repped by celebrities from Xtina to Lindsay Lohan. However, today’s version is a bit more subdued. Our stylists suggest a high-contrast blend of brunette and honey blonde, so the look adds depth and dimension to your natural colour.

7. Subtle Bends

In contrast to intricate runway hairstyles, the “easy” era of hair is ushering in looks with subtle bends. You’ve probably noticed on your feeds and runway shows, that models are simply rocking a slight bend to the hair.

The subtle bend look offers an effortless and DIY-friendly style that anyone can master. Just take a few sections of hair and run your straightener down, adding a slight flip back and forth throughout. Then, spritz in a light-hold hairspray or texture spray to keep the shape and movement.

8. Box Bob

There’s just something so soft and elegant about a boxed bob. We think we’re going to see a lot of our clients opt for the shorter chop with this famous crop. The relaxed bob became a popular choice with the idea being to keep hair more manageable and less high maintenance.

A softer version of the popular blunt bob, showcased by celebrities like Hailey Bieber and Emma Chamberlain. The box bob frames the face without the harsh lines you might see on a regular blut bob, promising bounce and style. It’s the perfect haircut for this summer heat in Queensland.

9. Birkin Bangs

This French fringe is all the rage this 2024 season. It kisses your eyelashes for a look that is effortless, undone, and romantic. Not only are they easy to style, but they’re also light and wispy for the warmer season. When you’re drying your hair, our stylists recommend pointing the hairdryer downwards to omit moisture from your bangs.

To style, twist your hair with your fingers to add some natural body. Then, once your hair is dry, straighten only the tips of your bangs so they move around effortlessly. Birkin bangs are the perfect way to add a touch of Parisian chicness to your look.

10. Blunt Cuts

ICYMI: Celebrities like Megan Fox have opted to chop their ultra-long locks in favour of medium-length cuts with blunt ends. Every hairdresser in the world will be over the moon to see this trend take off, as more clients ask for regular blunt haircuts that look healthy and add bounce.

This type of haircut is what gives you volume for that full, 90s-esque blowout with glamorous waves. Simply ask your stylist to maintain full ends with longer, fewer layers for added volume.
