Alyssa at Epic Hair Designs is a passionate first-year hairdressing apprentice taking the first exciting steps towards a career she has dreamed about since childhood. For Alyssa, hairdressing is about more than learning how to cut, colour and style hair. From an early age, Alyssa was drawn to the creativity and transformation involved in hairdressing. She loved the idea that a new colour or style could completely change how someone felt when they looked in the mirror. Now that she has begun her apprenticeship, she is excited to turn that long-held dream into a career while developing the practical skills, knowledge and confidence needed to become a talented stylist.

Beginning Her Hairdressing Journey

As a first-year apprentice, Alyssa is embracing every opportunity to learn. Hairdressing requires a wide range of technical and creative skills, and she understands that becoming a great stylist is a journey built through education, observation and hands-on experience.

Each day in the salon gives her the chance to discover something new. Whether she is watching an experienced stylist, assisting with a service or learning about the professional products and techniques used in the salon, Alyssa approaches every experience as another important step in her development.

Starting her journey as Alyssa at Epic Hair Designs also allows her to learn in a busy salon environment surrounded by experienced hairdressers. She is looking forward to building her confidence, strengthening her technical abilities and developing her own creative style throughout her apprenticeship.

Colour work is one of the areas Alyssa is most excited to explore. She loves how hair colour can be personalised to complement an individual’s features, style and personality.

From subtle tonal changes to noticeable transformations, colour provides endless opportunities for creativity. Alyssa is eager to continue learning about colour selection, formulation, application and maintenance as her knowledge and experience grow.

What inspires her most is the way a hair transformation can influence how someone feels. A salon appointment can give a client the opportunity to relax, enjoy time for themselves and leave feeling refreshed. Alyssa hopes to build a career in which she can create those experiences, combining beautiful hair with the confidence that comes from feeling like the best version of yourself.

Outside the salon, Alyssa enjoys expressing her creativity through baking. She loves preparing both sweet and savoury treats, giving her the chance to experiment with different flavours, ideas and recipes.

Much like hairdressing, baking requires patience, attention to detail and a willingness to continue learning. There is always something different to try, whether it is a familiar favourite or a completely new creation.

When she is not baking, Alyssa can often be found lost in the pages of a good book. Reading allows her to relax, recharge and immerse herself in another world after a busy day in the salon.
