Dancing CEO’s Brendon and Brendan help raise $240,000 for DV Victims

In support of Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month, our Epic CEO and Founder Brendon Mann joined Network Ten State Political Reporter, Brendan Smith on the dance floor to raise vital funds for women and children experiencing domestic violence.

On Saturday, May 21, Brendon and Brendan took to the stage at Brisbane’s City Hall in front of a glittering 1100+ audience to support the prevention of domestic violence. Battling it out against nine other business leaders, the 2022 Dancing CEOs competition was six months in the making.

The dynamic duo championed the leader board and raised more than $240,000 for Women’s Legal Service Queensland – a record breaking fundraising amount, making them the all-time Fundraising Champions!

Together, Brendon and Brendan have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars through multiple charity events, including the Epic Walk for DV, which boasted over 250 walkers in a sea of purple and raised more than $25,000 for Women’s Legal Service – as well as Epic’s Inaugural Epic Giving Gala which hosted over 320 guests at Victoria Park, raising another $50 000.

“This is something very close to our hearts at Epic Hair Designs, given the majority of our 170 staff are female and most of our clients are as well,” said CEO Brendon Mann.

“Staff and clients have been instrumental in helping us achieve this brilliant amount.”

All funds raised will support Women’s Legal Service Queensland and will enable women to receive legal and social support. Just $50 will facilitate a 30-minute legal consultation to help someone take the next step in starting a new life. Despite providing over 38,000 services to Queensland women, currently 30% of calls cannot be answered due to resource limitations.

“We wanted to make a difference and we know this money will save lives,” said Brendan Smith.

The Dancing CEOs event was a great success – doubling the donation goal and contributing over $605,000 to WLSQ – the highest amount raised for Women’s Legal Service Queensland.

Epic Hair Designs is determined to help make a difference and give back to the women in our communities.
