Celebrating the Unsung Heroes Gala Launch

With the launch of the Unsung Heroes Gala last Friday night, fundraising is officially underway!

As a proud partner of the Carers Foundation Australia, Epic CEO Brendon Mann joined Network Ten reporter, Brendan Smith at the Unsung Heroes Gala Dinner on Friday, October 28. The inaugural gala launch helped raise money for The Carers Foundation – an organisation that provides unique wellness programs to support the emotional, physical and mental wellbeing of unpaid carers across the country.

The Veronicas were guest performers for the evening as they were young carer patrons who cared for their mother when she was alive. The Brisbane pop duo performed their mother’s favourite song and donated their signed guitar for an exclusive online auction

Money raised from the Unsung Heroes Gala will go towards helping carers in the local community and to help fund a purpose-built center to accommodate, educate and rejuvenate carers. The facility will be available 24/7 and the only center in Australia specifically for carers.

Currently, there are 3 million carers in Australia, with over 540,000 in Queensland alone, providing care to family members. Two out of three carers have mental health issues due to the extreme stress and anxiety they experience daily.

These unsung heroes sacrifice their own lives to care for their loved ones with a medical or mental health condition, ageing, disability, substance addiction or terminal cancer.

At Epic Hair Designs, we aim to help carers in the local community through our partnership with the Carers Foundation. We hope to do what we can to assist carers with regular quality relief so they can cope with the unrelenting demands placed upon them.

We are so excited and beyond grateful to be a part of this incredible foundation that continues to “care for carers” through fundraisers, workshops and support programs.

The Carers Foundation is not Government Funded, so financial support from members of the community is an integral part of their campaigns. If you would like to learn more about The Carers Foundation Australia and support them, please visit https://www.thecarersfoundation.org/donate/
