Top 8 Halloween Hairstyles for Easy Costumes

Spooky season is finally here, and you’ve just been invited to a last-minute costume party. We’ve got you covered, all you need is you and your hair to make Halloween magic.

Halloween Hairstyles are perfect for anyone who’s not a makeup pro or into the full-on costume vibe. There’s a look for every hair type and skill level, from slick and spooky ponytails to Wednesday Addams braids. Truth is, a good hairstyle can inspire any Halloween look, or in some cases, be the look itself.  So, let’s check out some easy Halloween Hairstyles that will send shivers down your spine.

1. Harley Quinn

This look is for our Bleached Blonde Puddins. A Simple centre part, two high pigtails and some pink and blue spray is all you need. You can mix up the look, by wrapping them into two cute buns or trying out various messy curls with a slight tweeze finish. The best part about this look is that you don’t need to be a curling pro, as messy adds to the character. Alternatively, you can try clip-in extensions for those of you who don’t want to show up to work the next day still in character.

2. Wednesday Addams

Bring out your Gothic Alter Ego with this super simply look for Wednesday Addams. Long, Dark and Lucious braids are all you need to replicated her iconic look. Just part your hair down the middle and braid each side over your ears and make sure they hang over your shoulders.

3. Devil Horns

Since you wore cat ears the last three Halloweens in a row, it’s probably time to mix things up. This look may scare you by how complicated it looks, but it’s actually quite the opposite. All you have to do is take the front section of your hair and put it into two small ponytails. Then spray each ponytail with hairspray and wrap them into two buns, keeping them in a cone shape rather than a donut-shaped bun. And if you want to take it to the seventh level of hell, grab some red hair spray and spritz it onto the buns.

4. No-Stress Lioness

Looking for easy Halloween hairstyles that lets you embrace your natural curls? Well, you’re in luck because this Halloween hairstyle is all about that sexy volume. Let your hair take center stage by curling it and spraying it with a texturising spray (our fave is the Oribe Dry Texturising Spray). Flip it over and give your hair a good scrunch. Keep repeating this until your hair transforms into a huge, lion-like mane.

5. Spooky Ponytail

Don’t know which character to choose? Throw together a spooky-styled pony for a quick Halloween vibe. Comb your hair into a slick ponytail and decorate the back of your hair with little Halloween ornaments from your local Kmart. Try some spiders, bats or cats with a pop of anything orange like ribbons, rhinestones or Glitter if you’re feeling adventurous.

6. Space Buns

Space buns aren’t just for music festivals people! You don’t need an intensely elaborate costume to pull of the alien cosplay look. Your hair will make that statement for you. Get that extraterrestrial look by parting your hair down the middle and making two high ponytails as close to the hairline as possible. Then twist into two small buns, leaving some strands out to frame your face.

7. Baby Spice

Spice up your Halloween with Baby Spice’s iconic pigtails. We recommend using a texturising spray to add volume, texture, and fullness to your look. Then just part your hair into two high ponytails, leaving out some face framing strands. If you have some playful pom-poms laying around, make sure to add them to your pigtails to complete this cute Halloween hairstyle!

8. Ariel Hair

If you’re looking for an easy, low maintenance Halloween hairstyle, go for this super sweet Ariel look. First apply heat protectant spray to prevent any damage before curling your hair into some beachy waves – we love the Ghd Curve Classic Curl Tong. Finally run your fingers through your hair to separate the curls into bigger waves and spritz with hairspray to hold them into shape. Once you have those perfect mermaid curls you can part your hair to the side and pin it down with a small starfish hair clip.
