Caesar Production with LaBoite Theatre and Epic Hair Designs

La Boite Theatre

Epic Lending The Expert Styling Services On Set

Epic Hair Designs and La Boite Theatre have been corporate partners since 2016. The partnership grows with the upcoming production of Caesar which starts July 17th to August 7th at the Roundhouse Theatre in Brisbane.

La Boite is Australia’s longest continuously running theatre company, celebrating its 100th year of operation in 2025. Located within the Queensland University of Technology’s Kelvin Grove campus in Brisbane, La Boite is home to the iconic 400 seat Roundhouse Theatre.

Every production requires a huge amount of planning. It’s behind the scenes where the partnership between La Boite and Epic Hair Designs shines. Recently Epic Hair Designs sent Emma and Dennis, two of their talented stylists on-set for the Caesar Production Photoshoot to lend their expertise to style a handful of actors’ hair.

The looks were contemporary and wild, with lots of volume and spray paint. Hair was spray painted white and styles were complete to match the contemporary and alternative creative direction.

Our mission with the ongoing partnership is to assist La Boite to create powerful connections in the community between artists and audiences through stories that entertain, move, empower, surprise, and transfix. About the production:

Alea iacta est (The die is cast) – Julius Caesar

Five acts. Five writers. One electrifying theatrical experience.

La Boite’s revitalised CAESAR is a sharp and playful take on Shakespeare’s most cut-throat political thriller with a modern script ripped straight from the headlines.

The iconic tragedy about a self-absorbed politician and the men raging for revenge is turned on its head in the hands of five fierce female-identifying playwrights.  Over five acts, they tear apart the ideas of fear, control, power, honor and duty in a savage takedown of political failure, fake news, corrupt leadership and deafening demands for responsibility.

Adapted for a central voice, CAESAR stars an all-female-identifying and non-binary cast of  Queensland actors, including Chenoa DeemalBilly FogartyGiema Contini and Angie Milliken, who each play a myriad of different characters, bringing a powerful new perspective to this contemporary work
