Access to sanitary products is a right, not a privilege.
For those of you who have been a part of our Epic family for the last few years, you would all be familiar with our salon’s support for Australia’s non for profit charity, Share The Dignity. As a company involved in various local communities in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, affecting womens lives every day, we work to ensure that we are using our influence in the community to directly support female empowerment and equality.
What does Share The Dignity stand for?
Share the Dignity works to make a real, on the ground difference in the Australian lives of those experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, or doing it tough. Epic Hair Designs salons are an official drop off point helping to distribute period products to those in need and work to end period poverty. When someone is doing it tough, the last thing on their mind should be dealing with their period.
We assist those in need through collecting thousands of period products each year through our collection drives and campaigns. Make a real difference to those nearby experience period poverty.
Our work with Share The Dignity directly benefits those in crisis, experience period poverty.
We believe that everyone deserves to be afforded the dignity that so many of us take for granted. On any given night in Australia, 1 in 200 people are homeless. 44% are female. 27% are children under the age of 18. Family violence is the number one reason people present to homeless services. 55% of females cite this reason. We need your donations to help this struggling community of Brisbane.
Pictured above is our amazing Ascot salon Manager, Kristin with our Share The Dignity Rep at the end of our 2019 Christmas drive. We are so proud that our Epic Hair Designs guests are helping us to empower those in need in Australia. Please help us support this cause again this August, 2020.
How can you help?
Throughout the entire month of August, all 16 of our Epic Hair Designs salons are official drop off points for donating sanitary items that will go directly to females in Australia affected by family violence and homelessness. Next time you’re doing your shopping, keep in mind: one box for me, one box for her. Imagine how many boxes you will be able to drop into your closest collection box during our August #Dignitydrive! When you donate sanitary products to Share The Dignity, you’re donating much more than pads and tampons. You’re giving a woman experiencing homelessness or financial crisis the essentials, so she doesn’t need to choose between food and dignity.
