Here at Epic Hair Designs, we incorporate Olaplex number 1 and 2, which are highly concentrated salon-grade treatments. We also offer a package which contains number 1, number 2 and the take-home product number 3.

hOW to use olaplex at home

Number 3 is a take-home 15 minutes treatment, recommended being washed out using with number 4 and number 5 (the shampoo and conditioner). Number 6 is a leave-in treatment and Number 7 is a leave-in oil which makes your hair feeling soft, smooth and also provides heat protection.

Olaplex is free of silicone, sulfates, phthalates, DEA, aldehydes, gluten and is never tested on animals.

Olaplex is a bond multiplier containing a single active ingredient, Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate. Olaplex works by finding single sulfur hydrogen bonds and cross linking them back together to form disulfide bonds before, during and after services. Disulfide bonds are broken via chemical, thermal, and mechanical processes. Bonds break when exposed to chemicals in colour, from heat, and mechanical force such as combing wet hair.

The Olaplex No. 3 Bond perfector, No 4, No 5 , No 6 and No 7 are available to purchase at all Epic Hair Designs salons.

All Olaplex products contain the same single active ingredient that multiplies and cross-links bonds; at different concentrations. However, the three steps have been formulated for their own distinct purpose. The No. 1 Bond Multiplier is to be added directly into colour or lightener to actively protect and rebuild your hair during lightening or colouring services. It can also be utilised as a stand-alone treatment on damaged hair as an intensive rebuild service. No. 2 Bond Perfector is the second step which links disulfide bonds after the initial service, restoring the strength, structure and integrity of the hair. The No. 3 Hair Perfector is your ‘take-home’ portion of the service, enabling the maintenance of strong, healthy hair in between colour services.

Olaplex does one job and one job only – reconnect broken disulphide bonds in your hair. The results you achieve from Olaplex are permanent – that is, if you stop using Olaplex, the bonds will not automatically revert to their broken form. Nevertheless, bonds break when exposed to chemicals in colour, from heat, and mechanical force such as combing wet hair. Because of this, if you expose your hair to stresses such as chemicals, heat or mechanical force, new damage to the bonds in your hair can occur.
