Full steps of the Keratin Smoothing Treatment process are below, as well as hair suitability for this service. Please note this is not a straightening service and compromised or heavily damaged hair is not suitable for this service. Previous colour and smoothing/straightening treatments need to be shared with your stylist. Hair that has previously been coloured using Henna or undergone straightening is not suitable for its service. Hair can be coloured 2 weeks prior or two weeks after this service has been performed in ensure colour remains in hair.

STEP 1

In-salon consultation

One very important step is the consultation and making sure the Kerasilk Keratin Treatment is right for you.  Your stylist will sit down with you and go over a range of questions to make sure you get the most out of your Keratin Treatment and that your expectations are met.

It is important that your hair has no henna in it. Henna is a natural plant-based permanent colour mostly used in Asian countries and will react with our product.

There must be no chemical straightening present in the hair as it will also react with our product leaving you with undesirable results.

STEP 2
Application & Processing

Your stylist will take meticulous care in applying and processing your Kerastin Smoothing Service. Depending on your hair length and texture, allow around 2 hours for this service.  The first step will be a purifying process at the hair spa which will remove any impurities from the hair. The Keratin treatment will be applied and left for 15 minutes to be absorbed. A quick rinse at the hair spa will be followed by blowdrying and the ironing step of the service.  Once complete we will do a final shampoo and leave-in treatment then finish using our ghd glide tool.

Home Hair Care

To maintain your smooth locks and overall look and feel of your newly refined hair, we recommend using the Kerasilk Control shampoo, conditioner and take-home masque treatment. This way you are continuously packing the Keratin and Silk Proteins into your locks after your in-salon treatment. These products contain the Kerashape Technology that supports the Keratin treatment meaning your hair stays smoother for longer.

We are much more than just hairdressing.

Yes, Keratin treatment really works and the effects can really last for several months. If your hair is very frizzy and dry, the effects of the treatment can last for about 3 months. And if your hair is only slightly damaged and dry, the effects of the treatment can last up to 5 months or even longer.

Depending on the length and texture of your hair, minimum of 2 hours to maximum of 3 hours.

Durability and control of your hair cannot be assured unless the Kerasilk Keratin Control range is used at home.

During Keratin treatments, the solution infuses the hair with Keratin, repairing damage and flaws within the hair. Keratin is responsible for increased shine and reduced frizz, but does not directly straighten the hair itself.

This product is designed to smooth frizz, not straighten hair. Kerasilk Keratin is not a chemical straightening service.
