You’ll need to wait 72 hours after your initial application before washing, exercising, or wetting your hair. This allows the adhesive tapes to bond fully, ensuring long-lasting wear.

We recommend avoiding keratin or protein products on Showpony tape extensions. These can cause slippage, brittleness, or product build-up, which may affect how the tapes bond to your natural hair.

Avoid products with citrus extracts, silicones, oils (like Moroccan or Argan), keratin, or high alcohol content. Medicated or toning shampoos, tanning products, and some chemical sunscreens can also cause slippage or discolouration. Using only extension-safe products will keep your hair extensions in perfect condition.

This usually happens if the extensions are exposed to excessive heat such as very hot showers, high-heat dryers, or hot irons too close to the tape. If this occurs, use a deep-cleansing shampoo and have your stylist reapply using Showpony’s residue remover and fresh adhesive tapes.
