A Little Bit About Share The Dignity…

Share the Dignity is an Australian Charity bringing dignity to homeless, at-risk and those experiencing domestic violence through the distribution of sanitary items and funding of funerals. They believe all women matter and all women deserve dignity and justice.

Throughout the year, Share The Dignity conduct various drives to support and bring dignity to the homeless. As well as the “In The Bag” Drive, Epic Hair Designs has been apart of the Dignity Drive which us conducted twice a year to collect sanitary items that are then donated to our registered charities. Share The Dignity Charity Partners then supply homeless, at-risk and women experiencing domestic violence with dignity at a time they need it most. Dignity Drives happen in April and August.  This is probably our most life changing campaign, therefore, we need your help.

Rochelle Courtenay
Founder & NEMD

Rochelle is Share the Dignity’s founder and Managing Director; the title she is most proud of though is ‘Pad Lady’. This title came about and stuck  while she collected of over 1.1 Million packets of pads and tampons across Australia over three years. She learned of homeless women going without basic sanitary items during their menstrual cycle.  Most noteworthy, Rochelle decided the question was not “Why is no one doing anything” but rather “ What’s stopping me from doing something?” First of all, in March 2015 Rochelle took matters in to her own hands collecting sanitary items within her local community and distributing to local shelters. As a result, a simple idea of giving dignity to women, Share the Dignity has grown into a national charity.  Consequently, it has over 3,000 volunteers Australia wide, and most noteworthy, provides multiple initiatives aimed at giving dignity to women.
