Share the Dignity launched to assist the many homeless women and women in domestic violence shelters in Australia who had to face unthinkable indignities during their monthly period. It began by donating sanitary items to women who were in situations where they could not afford them. Now to assist women even further Share the Dignity is helping those less fortunate through the #itsinthebag campaign.
#itsinthebag is launching just in time for Christmas to make women feel special and cared for this Christmas. The idea is simple, you fill a handbag with useful goodies for women in need and maybe you could even pop in a note to let them know they’re in your thoughts. Some items you may wish to put in the bags include:
- Ladies sanitary products
- Baby wipes, cleansing wipes, tissues
- Deodorants, Perfume
- Soap
- Shampoo and conditioner, shampoo in a can
- Toothpaste and toothbrush
- Hair ties and hair brush
- Sunscreen
- Movie voucher, gift voucher, meal voucher
- Poncho
- Scarf
- Jewellery or trinket
- Lotions, creams, smelly stuff
- Card or note
- Book
- Socks and Undies
At Epic Hair Designs, we’re using our eight salons as drop off points for the #itsinthebag campaigns. To encourage as many donations as possible, we will give any person who donates to #itsinthebag $20 off their colour service at Epic Hair. Simply bring your bag into the salon with a print out or screen shot of the voucher to receive your $20 discount.
